Ron DeSantis’ joke about ‘African-American support’ from Elon Musk slammed by liberal media: ‘This is sick’

Elon Musk also announced he voted for a Republican in the recent Texas special election

On Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a joke about having Elon Musk's support, which didn't go over well with the liberal mainstream media

After the CEO of Tesla said on Twitter that he voted for the first time ever for a Republican, Musk also said that he was leaning toward supporting DeSantis for president in 2024.

When the press told DeSantis about Musk's support, he said that he's mostly focused on the gubernatorial election in 2022, but he's happy to have "support from African-Americans." Musk is White and was born in South Africa. Many people in the mainstream media criticised this joke by putting it in the worst possible light and saying it shows that DeSantis is racist.

"If you've said before that @GovRonDeSantis is a less funny, more openly fascist version of Trump, that's still true. Here, he shows the first quality by making fun of Black Americans with his own stupid and offensive version of replacement theory. Take note, black Floridians, "Joy Reid is a host on MSNBC.

"Does this have a joke somewhere? "I don't get it," said a CNN and "The View" commentator "Ana Navarro, the co-host, wrote.Norm Eisen, a lawyer who works for CNN, tweeted, "I know how bad what he's doing here is because I'm also part of a minority. We are not a joke, and neither are black people in the United States. There's no place for jokes about skin colour and looks. This is terrible."Elie Mystal, who writes for The Nation, said, "F*ck all these people."

Yvette Simpson, who works for ABC, tweeted, "And we thought Donald Trump was the worst thing that could happen to us. They are saying and laughing about the "racist part." No more white sheets—now everything is out in the open."

Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., was one of the people who didn't like Musk's tweet about voting for Republican Mayra Flores

"Elon Musk doesn't know how to lead. He's just another Republican billionaire who supports white supremacy and authoritarianism because he doesn't want his workers to join a union or pay their fair share of taxes "Bowman sent a tweet.

Flores won Tuesday's special election for Texas's 34th Congressional District, which had been controlled by Democrats for decades. Flores was the first person from the United States who was born in Mexico to be elected to the U.S. Congress.
